My posts are so random, you'll never know what you might miss if you don't check back on here every once in a while.
Today's post is about a sweet moment in text messages that happened earlier this week. He doesn't often give me compliments. He doesn't give mean comments either, but words of affirmation is definitely not one of his love languages.
Let me give some back story to this random text. Earlier this summer, I was cooking chicken and rice, while multi-tasking I'm sure. I wasn't watching the rice too careful and I ended up boiling the water out and the rice burned to the pan. Oops. There goes 1/2 our meal. However, only the bottom part burned, the rest was edible, only if left a slight burnt taste due to touching the rest of it. Sweet boyfriend didn't make one comment about it tasting gross, and he insisted on eating it anyway. He's so sweet.
A week or so later, he told me about a conversation he had with the guys at work. He told them about the rice and one person made the comment that he wouldn't eat it. The other said he would tell his wife to make something else. Cody simply told them why complain? I work all day, I come home and cook for him. I make sure the house is clean. I make sure he always has clean clothes to wear. I take care of all his needs. He said "so what if she burns the food every once in a while? It's ok considering everything else she does."
This week, I may have burned a couple pork chops just a little bit. He ate it and said it was good. He even insisted on taking the left overs for lunch the next day. Something happened st work and he ended up leaving for the day in the early morning. This is what happened through texts.

School Starts Again
Three beautiful kids on their first weeks of school. B's second year, she loves her school, but so upset that her teacher isn't the same one from last year; and that she doesn't get to stay home with mommy all day anymore like summer. Poor thing is taking a few weeks to quit crying on the way to school.

Crockpot Meatballs
This is super easy to make, and doesn't take too long. I normally let it cook for 30 minutes to an hour, so the meat really soaks up the flavor.
Frozen Meatballs
1 jar Chili Sauce
1 jar Grape Jelly
Mix all three together and cook on high in a crockpot. YUMMO!

Baked Asparagus
I don't even like Asparagus, but it's supposed to be good for you, so why not.
OK, now after you have tried my baked asparagus, you may change your mind and like them, like I did.
These are so great!
I sprinkle them with:
salt, pepper, Mrs. Dash, Garlic Salt, Talwin seasoning, a thin layer of olive oil, a slice of butter.
then I wrap them up tightly in aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes. Anything less, and it doesn't come out as good. On the picture below, I also baked some Tomatoes and zucchini.

TWINKIES
One day, my crazy brother comes home with this "awesome" button-up weird camo-type pattern. Candis hates it. She makes fun of him and hates him wearing it. She says he looks retarded. What does he do? He comes home later with a matching one for their son.
:)
