Three beautiful kids on their first weeks of school. B's second year, she loves her school, but so upset that her teacher isn't the same one from last year; and that she doesn't get to stay home with mommy all day anymore like summer. Poor thing is taking a few weeks to quit crying on the way to school.
This kid right here. OMG. Too cute for words. She is usually very stylish, but today, she decided to let her inner spunk take over when she got dressed.
We went up to the country for the weekend, and of course the most popular thing to do at this time is hang out at the pond, with fishing poles in our hand. Just introduced the kids to fishing this year, and they are hooked. No pun intended.
Brynnlei finally caught her first fish, ever. She ended up out-fishing all of us. The first fish she caught, she almost sorta 'petted' the fish before we threw it back. By the end of the day, not only is she holding it and throwing it back herself like a champ, she's also asking to throw back everyone else's
My niece loves loves crawfish. The other night we were out eating at a Mexican restaurant on town and they were serving crawfish. I asked Austynn if she was getting any and she said no. I asked why and she said "because! They are Mexicans, and everyone knows Mexicans make all their food hot!"
No. We aren't racist. But I laughed and laughed. And agreed. Their hot sauce was too hot for me even, I can only imagine how hot the crawfish are (if I liked that sort of thing).
The other day we had a girls shopping trip and ended up at Kay's Jewelry
trying on rings. The clerk was super friendly and carried on a
conversation with Austynn. And then this happened:
A: "Last year at Halloween I was a whore."
The lady looked shocked and then up at us. Our eyes got big. We asked again "what were you?"
A: "A whore" she said so matter-of-fact. Hmm. One more time we asked "what were you?"
A: In her frustrated voice "A whora". Oooh. Aurora. From Maleficent.
This Sunday, August 16, 2015, my sweet 7 year old beautiful
kind-hearted hilarious niece, Austynn, was baptized. I got it in video
tape, and have a few pictures as well.
Of course her
personality has to shine through in all that she does. After the pastor
Aaron dunked her, her mom and dad helped raise her up. This symbolizes
that they will always be there to help lift her up and guide her through
her faith. THEN, then she decided to dunk herself. haha. Double
insurance, if you will. The pastor said in all his years he's never
seen something like that before, but he loved it. It was great.
Also, this was our weekly discussion:
Sunday morning lessons don’t always apply directly to me,
or get me to thinking.Part of this
lesson I felt like that.First time
since I’ve been going to church this year that I didn’t think the lesson was
talking directly to me.But I know it
was.And It might later if it doesn’t
much this time.
Still talking about the Sermon on the Mount; Matthew
7:13-14.“Enter through the narrow gate;
for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there
are many who enter it.For the gate is
small and the way is a narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find
it.”
Many people travel wide spiritual intersections that lead
to destruction. People assume that by trying to do more good than bad that will
help them get into Heaven. That’s not true. Our bad will always outweigh our good deeds.Doing good isn’t the way.Yes, you should “do good”, as a Christian you
want to strive to be like Jesus every day.But just doing good isn’t your ticket to heaven.
Few people travel the narrow spiritual road that leads to
spiritual life. This is the time to make
a u-turn down the wrong road and head toward the narrow road of Jesus.
Jesus is THE way.He isn’t a way.He is THE
way.Doing good isn’t heading toward
Jesus.Doing Good and believing, and
praying, and showing others is heading toward Jesus. There is only one way to God – through Jesus.Grow to be more like him every day.John 14:6; Romans 6:23; Romans 10:9. You are
driving off a bridge that is out and you don’t even know it. DANGER – slow down
and follow Jesus.Don’t be in such a
rush to follow the crowd and get where they are going. Be specific. Your choices
do matter. Not all ways will lead to
Jesus. WAKE UP!
Lord,
Thank you for another beautiful day.Lord, hear my heart and forgive me for my
sins.I want to know you and grow strong
in your knowledge.Lord, please guide me
to be more like you.Amen.
B likes the older boys. She's 3. Rowdy is 5. He comes over every day. They play house and she calls him "babe". They fight and throw toys at each other and hold hands and play together. Sweetest thing.
If I were her mommy, Rowdy would be banned from my house. 3 is just a little too young to be dating. But aren't they cute?!!!
I saw this idea on Pinterest and have been saving it for just the right time. Looks like now would be it.
I had the kids (and me) paint "stained glass windows".
4 empty condiment bottles
4 bottles of elmers glue
4 different food coloring
4 8x10 glass picture frames
Mall of which I bought at the dollar store.
I mixed the food coloring with the glue in the bottles.
We took the different colors and painted the glass.
Lesson I learned:
*add some glitter to the color to make it sparkle
*instead of using the condiment bottles mix it with the elmers glue bottles or another bottle that has a smaller opening hole. It came out too fast and thick the way we used it.
I love going to watch Coleton play soccer. He loves playing Goalie. I got a
couple videos of his action plays! Notice in part of the video, he really hurt
his fingers. His fingers bent backwards and they hurt for most of the morning
after. (although he can be a hypochodriac so who knows if they REALLY hurt... )
This kid is so sweet. Sometimes we have "Julie and Coleton" days and we just hang out and watch movies together. He really loves it. WE did that a few weeks ago and watched "Lucy". Now he wants to watch "Robocop" so I think we might do that int he next week or so sometime. HE sure does enjoy his time away from his sisters lol.
5-1-15
Coleton helped us work on the flooring in the new house for the weekend. He never complained once, and sometimes I forgot to feed him because he never mentioned he's hungry. Oops!! (Same reason I can't keep a plant alive, they don't ask for food!!) we also watched Robocop this go-round too. :)
These kids are freaking hilarous! We are outside on Easter Sunday playing.
The kids and I are riding the golf cart around the neighborhood and having a
grand ole time! All of a sudden Austynn comes running past us going "I
have to poop. I have to poop. It's coming in and out. I have to poop!"
HAHAHAHA.
Austynn is so talented. She loves to sing, and last week she even wrote her
own song!
Poor Austynn has had a rough day! on Tuesday, 4/7/15, She got a headache
that turned into a migraine at school that morning. She got stung by a bee that
afternoon. that evening, she somehow managed to grab ahold of a pot that was
cooking food, spill it on herself, and get a nasty burn on her upper thigh.
It's so hard when they are at this age and you can't just hold them in your
arms 24 hours a day and protect them. And she's only in 1st grade!
Here she is playing at the park. :) Thank goodness for video cameras lol.
5-2-15:
A few weeks ago Austynn won at the local StoryTelling competition for local private schools so she got to go to STATE. State was held at Ft. Worth this weekend and she tried hard but didn't win. She actually didn't want to win. When they announced the winners, she jumps up and told everyone god job, and even thanked the announcer over and over again for NOT picking her. She's so silly!!
5/3
The kids came over for a few min and after they left I found a sweet note from
Austynn:
5/10 Mothers Day. We spent the afternoon riding around the neighborhood in the golf cart.
5-16-15
Austynn called me to ask if she can spend the night. She said she never gets to spend time with me and really wanted to. I told her no but that in the morning I would get her and she can stay Saturday night. Saturday morning I couldn't find her. She calls me from my mom's
And asks if I'm ready for her. I picked her up and we went to get pedicures, went to the mall, chuck e cheese, and then just hung out. Later on she text her mom and told her she was having the time of her life!! Ah made my day because to me it wasn't anything special we did, we just spent time together. Then Later on my mom sent me this text.
June 5 -
On the way to Alivia's graduation, Austynn says "Man. I'm sweating my balls off." I asked what color balls she had and why she is sweating on them. She said "Not that kind of balls." so I Asked what kind and she said "um... Bubba, you tell her. You know about this better than I do."
Brynnlei's favorite thing to say when you say something to her that catches
her attention, "What you said?" It's hard not to life when she says
that to you when she overhears her name in a conversation. "What you
said?" oh - and Brynnlei has had this boyfriend, Noah, for a few months at school
(yes - they are 3. I don't think she's gone on any dates yet. :P ) The other
day in general conversation, this happens between her and her mom. B: Noah is no longer my boyfriend. Momma: He's not? why not? B: We had a fight. (she says this like it's no
big deal!!). Momma: Oh yea? What happened? B: I took his toy. I guess it's not that upsetting to her when she talks about how she has 3
boyfriends anyway. Probably makes it easier to start weeding out the weak ones
now. Brynnlei has such a cute BFF. It surprises me to see her like this at 3.
Ironically, we recently discovered that her best friend is my boss's daughter.
I think this might help me when I decide to ask for a raise ;) Her and her bff
Becky-boo are inseperable when they are together. They go to school together,
they will be both going to a new school together next year, and now they go to
church together. This is them together at a Princess Party in March, and then
again at an Easter Egg hunt in April.
5/10/15. Here she is on Mother's Day. Always running around naked!
5/25/15: Stay little, please!! Today is Memorial Day. B prefers to be called B now instead of Brynnlei. She has a new neighbor, Rowdy. He's an older boy (maybe about 5 or 6 years old??) the last couple of weeks she's been calling him "Babe" a lot 2 weeks ago she said "I love you" when he was going home from her house. And now she's kissing him!! My 3 year old niece kissed her first boy. An older boy. Rowdy. Oh lord...
June 5 -
we are in serious serious trouble now. On the way to my cousin, Alivia's graduation, Candis tells me that B played "I'll show you mine if you show me yours'. oh no!!! *Face palm* and then I'm talking to B about her boyfriend, and I asked if Rowdy has kissed her and she said yes. She told me he kissed her on her arm. How sweet. so I asked if she kissed him back and she said yes. I asked if she kissed him on his arm and she shook her head. I guessed other places and she kept shaking her head. I asked her where and she pointed between her legs. wtf?!!
I had to turn my head and burst out laughing, while trying to tell her no. that's not a spot to kiss boys. Then Austynn told he she hasn't kissed a boy yet, so that's good. wow. so glad I don't have to have this conversation with my 3-year old. I feel bad for her parents. :P
There should be a story told about this. I'm missing the earlier pictures to tell this story.
Brynnlei loves to paint. a few weekends ago, they decided to give her some cement-paint and let her go to town on the concrete. Whatever entertains a kid, right??!!
BUSTED!! Austynn was spray-painting ove Coleton's Clubhouse. she wrote "A not C". as in tagging it. "Austynn not Coleton". Coleton was so mad!! When I went to pick him up from soccer right after this, he went off on how all he does is love his sister, but she continues to just hate him and show no love back. She's not doing the christian thing so she doesn't need to go to christian school. he just went off on what a horrible person she is. All because she attacked his clubhouse. on the inside (I have no pictures) she also wrote "Mommy loves Bubba Austynn and B" then she crossed out Bubba and B. she is clever. And this broke Coleton's heart. So for the weekend assignment, She had to cover over it. He didn't seem to mind that it was painted pink.
Let me gives you some advice if you have toddlers: Be careful what you say / how you explain things to your children, especially if they are the type to repeat what you say.
For example: (I am going to try to keep this as clean as possible)- My niece gets up in the middle of the night sometimes and crawls in bed with my brother and sister-in-law. One day my niece is talking to my mom and she said she has a bobo, and her daddy kisses it when it hurts, but she doesn't always kiss daddy's bobo, then she went on telling her about this scary dream she had. and she was going on and on about what happened in the dream. then she mentioned that she got up and went into her parents room. and saw something a child should probably not see. and my sister-in-law explained what was going on by using the bobo analogy. Hope she doesn't mention this at her school. Her CHRISTIAN school she just started.
Sisterr-in-law was mortified when we told her the story of what Austynn had said. I was laughing hysterically. and wishing I NEVER EVER heard that story...
