My sweet baby cousin (the youngest of the 11 of us), is pregnant with her first child, a boy.
They like blue, and hunting. So I made this cute baby blanket for her ... I mean him. :)
I had to post a couple pics from the shower too, just because everything was so cute.

Craft day
July 5:
I had the kids (and me) paint "stained glass windows".
4 empty condiment bottles
4 bottles of elmers glue
4 different food coloring
4 8x10 glass picture frames
Mall of which I bought at the dollar store.
I mixed the food coloring with the glue in the bottles.
We took the different colors and painted the glass.
Lesson I learned:
*add some glitter to the color to make it sparkle
*instead of using the condiment bottles mix it with the elmers glue bottles or another bottle that has a smaller opening hole. It came out too fast and thick the way we used it.

Re-purposed shirt
I had a sewing machine since I was 22 (9 years if you do the math right). It never ever worked for me. I made up my mind that seeing is not something I can do. A few months ago my mom sat down to show me how, and turns out a major piece was missing, which is why it never worked. Han so, maybe I don't suck at it...
Last week I had a sudden urge to attempt to sew, so I went to my mom's and got hers (which was my grandma's. And ironically, the day I had the urge is the day my grandma would have been 88. Think she was talking to me.)
I practiced for a few days and finally attempted on the real deal. This is Pinterest-inspired and turned our awesome!
I just took a shirt that was too tight and added some fabric to the sides. The camp fabric is actually from my friend's marine BDU's. Which is fitting for the shirt.
This is a before and after picture.

It's baby time!
I love babies.I also love buying baby stuff. Two of my awesome friends have had babies in May and I went to their baby showers. I always give the same general gifts, and then I have to incorporate some special 'home made' stuff as well. It's more personal I suppose.
One of my friends, Kari and her husband are huge Bearkat fans. They go to all the Sam Houston State football games as well as baseball games. They also are huge into comics. Their baby, Logan, is the Wolverine's real name, so I wanted to go with a Wolverine theme. I couldn't find Wolverine fabric anywhere locally, so I couldn't stick with it.
I made this awesome blanket for them in Sam Houston colors. This way, they can take it to games and keep the baby boy warm. I made a blue one for Jeanette. but forgot to get a picture of it.
I took a regular paper box, covered it with fabric that went with their theme, and used that as my gift box. Turned out pretty great.

Baby gifts
ah!! I love babies. and gifts. and baby gifts. :) My former co-worker/friend just had twins (one boy, one girl) on Nov. 19th. The week before I was in my old town, where she lives and gave her a cute baby gift basket. four of the outfits, two sets, I made myself. I thought they were just so darling, so I had to show them off.
Anyone else want want to have twins so I can make more of these???

DIY- Onesie
I haven't been able to show this off until after the momma had her wonderful shower.
My BFF had a baby shower this weekend for her gorgeous baby girl and, if anyone knows her, you know her favorite movie.
I made this adorable onesie for baby to wear in honor of Patrick Swayze. Unfortunately, my printer was having issues so the solid color didn't come out on the wordings, so it's only an outline, but I still think it works.
Only after I made the butt ruffles did I notice they already had these pre-made at Hobby Lobby. I'll have to remember that for next time.
Check it:

DIY - Beaded Jewelry Shirt
Love DIY's. I got this idea here: Love Maegan.
Hope it wears as cute as it looks... I started out with a plain white shirt, and then I added beads to the collar to spice it up. I plan to add more beads to the arms as well, just haven't gotten around to it.

Crafty Wednesday
Today we had a Christmas party at work and we decided to play a White Elephant game, only the gifts were our favorite dessert we made, and a dishtowel. I decided to make my own dishtowel, thanks to Pinterest.
It was pretty simple really, and all the material I already had at home.

Craft weekend
oh how i love Pinterest. I also love my Swiffer Sweeper and Wet Jet. What I don't love- is having to buy refills every month or 2. I feel like it is such a waste to buy these pads just to wipe the floor up, and throw them away. Especially when we are at at time of 'going green'.
I saw this cute little 'Make your own mop pads' on Pinterest and so I decided to try it out. I am very impressed with myself. Already used it and my floor looks wonderful!
This is my finished product, and this is where you can find the instructions.

Where have I been?!
I know! I know. I've been a little absent lately. I normally get on here during the week, however, at work we all get slammed hard the last couple of weeks, and I don't even have time to drink my hot chocolate anymore!! (I know it's only 80-90's degrees right now, but it's freeeezing in the office so it's justified, right?!)With working too much, and doing school stuff and tax stuff on the evenings, and a lot of family and friend events on the weekend, it's hard to fit everything in that I need. I'll try to do better, promise.
This past weekend me and my aunt threw a 'Meet the Baby' Baby Shower for the family, for my sister-in-law, Candis, and her beautiful baby Brynnlei. I took a few pictures. It turned out really well. I came up with this great idea that each person that showed up would paint, or decorate, a letter in her name, and we would write a message on the back and sign it. I was really impressed that the talent everyone showed. Austynn (who will be 4 in less than a month-EEK!!) wanted to paint her letter red, so she dumped a whole bottle of paint on it. bahaha. Then she wanted to add a little bit of yellow, so she dumped a bottle of yellow, on top of the 4 inch thick wet red she had on there already. Her letter, when we touched it up after she was finished, turned out to be a baby blue color. she had the 'L'.

My new Shirt
I have 3 classes worth of homework to do, 6 chapters in 3 books to read, all due tomorrow. I've barely started, and because I am putting this off so much, Saturday I decided to attempt the Anthro Tank Top. I went to 3 stores looking for an orange colored shirt, so I can make mine in honor of my school spirit. No such luck, so I settled with a different shirt. I started out with these two shirts:
I ended up with this (and please excuse my crazy tanline on the back. Note to self: don't wear a tank top at the beach without sunscreen)
