Wedding Weekend
This weekend, my sister-in-law-in-law (my sister-in-law's sister) got married. It was an eventful time for sure. The wedding- I have no words to describe it, honestly... but all in all, it was a good weekend. Saw some friends, and of course spent most of the time with my favorite two little girls. Carissa- the bride- made the girls all matching dresses. It was a cute idea, although it was made of toule and when they moved, it didn't really cover their whole bodies. But it was still cute on them! It matched the bottom half of her dress. Here are a few pictures I was able to capture from the wedding.

Party time
Bachelorette Party time!! Last week, a bunch of us spent the night in Mid-town Houston bar-hopping, wearing wigs. I have to say, wigs is the way to go. We me so many people who would just buy us all drinks as an excuse to talk to us about why we all had wigs on. hey- I'm not about to complain when I'm handed a free drink.
I will refrain from talking bad about the event, but I have to ask one question- Why do most bachelorette parties end in DRAMA?? Can't a group of girls just drink, party and have a good time, without someone(s) ending in tears and someone else's feelings getting hurt?

Honoring a Hero
If you know me, you know that I have a huge heart for the military. I've always backed them and supported in any way that I know how. I have a lot of friends that have, or are currently, deployed right now fighting, so that I don't have to. and for that, I am always thankful for their sacrifices.
On May 11, 2012, a Marine, Sgt. Wade Wilson of Leona, Tx was Killed in Action in Afghanistan. Leona is not too far from here. I never met him, but it doesn't mean this is any less heartbreaking to me. He was 24 years old. this past Friday, May 18, his body was flown into a nearby city, and then transported to Centerville, Tx for his funeral, that would be on May 19th. Many people gathered at the airport he was flown into, and caravanned up to Centerville. My city, along with a few others en route to his destination, gathered in honor of him. Our police, along with the fire department, blocked off one of the overpasses above the major highway that Sgt. Wilson would be transported through, and there, people gathered with American flags to cheer, or mourn, his homecoming. In all honesty, I wish we did this for EVERY military, EVERY time they came home, not just when they lay down their life. The caravan definitely brought tears to my eyes, to see the number of police, motorcyclists, and just cars in general driving the road with Sgt. Wilson. Paying their respects the best we know how. I was driving the opposite direction they were, so I had a descent view of what was going on.
Sgt. Wilson's friends made a few youtube videos of him as well: very touching.

What a week!
What a week it has been! I won't get into the details because it would just bore you, or make you have sympathy for me, or whatever the reason, and none of those I want. But I feel like I just have to get this down, in writing. In the past 5 days, my emotions have been on some roller coaster. There have been ups and downs,
twists and turns, out of the blue surprises and news. I'm sitting here today, trying to figure out how to react to everything that has happened to me this week. The news, the surprises, the stupid choices I've made, the good feelings I have along with the sad feelings as well, as well as confused because... gosh. It has been crazy.
I will say this- The boy and I, are no longer. After my quick rush to the dr. and checkout, my heart is completely healthy. And, I got a do-over from an event that happened 11 years ago, that didn't turn out so well the first time. And this time, it was awesome.

50 Shades of Grey
This week I am linking up today with Heather from Blonde... Undercover Blonde for Friday's Book Club.
Last week, searching for a book to read, several of my co-workers and I were discussing an up and coming popular book that is getting a lot of hype. My curiosity peaked.
According to Amazon:
When reading the synopsis, I still had no idea what this book was really about. I believe, if books can be rated ‘X’ this would classify. Or at least, rated R for Sexual Conduct. But, with all that said, it was a quick, easy read and it kept me wanting to read more and see what’s about to happen next. While reading it, I imagined that the Christian Grey was Sam Page. It made the book even more enjoyable to visualize with this hottie ;) The ending definitely got me hooked, and I can't wait to jump into the 2nd book of this trilogy to see what's going to happen next.
My rating: A+ for this.
Oh- and I also found out, 2 days after I’m reading the book, they are going to turn this into a movie!!! Possibly considering casting Damian from Vampire Diaries as Christian Grey. That will work for me too. Enjoy!!

According to Amazon:
When literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey, she encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her, too—but on his own terms.
Shocked yet thrilled by Grey’s singular erotic tastes, Ana hesitates. For all the trappings of success—his multinational businesses, his vast wealth, his loving family—Grey is a man tormented by demons and consumed by the need to control. When the couple embarks on a daring, passionately physical affair, Ana discovers Christian Grey’s secrets and explores her own dark desires.

How do you eat your Oreos?
Last night as I was lounging on the couch eating oreos, I realized I have a certain habit when I do so. Made me wonder, How do you eat your oreos?
I prefer the double-stuffed of course. and this is what I do: I take the top of an oreo off, dunk part of it (the one without the cream on it) into some milk, and eat it. then I do this with my 2nd oreo as well. Then, I take the two remaining bottom parts, both with the cream on them, and put them together to make a quadruple-stuffed oreo. I make 2-3 quadruple-stuffed oreos, adn then I eat those 2-3 cookies and then I am done with my snack. Anymore than 2 or 3 (which is really 4 or 6 cookies total) and I'm miserable.

DIY- Onesie
I haven't been able to show this off until after the momma had her wonderful shower.
My BFF had a baby shower this weekend for her gorgeous baby girl and, if anyone knows her, you know her favorite movie.
I made this adorable onesie for baby to wear in honor of Patrick Swayze. Unfortunately, my printer was having issues so the solid color didn't come out on the wordings, so it's only an outline, but I still think it works.
Only after I made the butt ruffles did I notice they already had these pre-made at Hobby Lobby. I'll have to remember that for next time.
